Say some prayers for my dad, please

He should be in the surgery now for his back. I think the start time was an hour ago. I keep looking at the clock as if that's going to help. Worried about him and my mom. She's got some good friends there to keep her company. I won't hear anything until later this afternoon probably. This is dad's 3rd back surgery and he's been dreading it for quite a while. He's going to have a bionic back practically. They are going to do some fusing and putting in a new rod. He's had surgery on L5 (??) before and also L4 and now it's going from L2 to L5 and there'll be some sort of lego like thing for L2 I think to help him keep some of the mobility he'd otherwise lose. I just want him to be okay and have much less pain. He's been miserable.

Update - they are just now getting started

Mom said they took him back about 30 minutes ago and they still had to do the catheter and IV and all so he's just now getting started with the surgery. Whoever was under the knife this morning took longer.

at 10:30 eastern. So he's been in there almost 90 minutes now if they started on time. He either had surgery start at 10:30 or had to be there at 10:30. They kept changing the times and I lost track so I'm really not sure when I'll hear anything. Can't be soon enough!

He LOVED the manatee quilt I made. Mom said they'd even take it to the hospital to put on his bed and keep him warm.
