Huh.
I'd like to know what it is about gruesomely terminating the life of a deer, an Arab, or a black man on death row that men in this country find so empowering and liberating.
Perhaps if you had a uterus and everyone around you kept blathering about how the government should be able to force you to donate your body to your fetus to carry for nine months and then happily give it away after a painful birth, you'd understand. You're obviously incapable of putting yourself in women's shoes. HOW UNUSUAL for a MAN - and probably a Republican! Banning abortion doesn't hold up as a legal argument. What a woman is being forced to do is to donate her body and body parts - what the baby needs to live - in order to keep the baby alive. This is equivalent to forcing a person - perhaps a criminal, since that would serve as an excuse that they would "deserve" it, just as sex serves as excuse that women "deserve" it, though men go basically totally unpunished - to undergo surgery to remove a kidney to donate to someone who would otherwise die without a kidney. You cannot legally force someone to donate their organs just because someone else will die without them. It doesn't matter if the fetus is human or not.
Do you know what life is like for women in the countries where abortion is currently illegal? MASSIVE NUMBERS of them die. In fact, the maternal mortality rate is enormous. They cannot "refuse sex" because they have no rights and their husbands can sleep with them whenever they like and determine what kind of birth control they use.
Try this, if you're at all capable of empathizing with people. "Why I Provide Second Trimester Abortions,"
