A quick question regarding today's feminists...?

I would just like to know, seriously, exactly what is it about terminating a pregnancy - putting a stop to a beating heart of a defenseless unborn baby - that makes pro-choice women feel "empowered" and "liberated"? I don't get it. Please explain. Thanks.
