I'm a little surprised no one has brought this up yet, but i have to say that ASU's Geoff Desmond got screwed out of the Player of the Year award. If you look at Desmond's stats compared to Yema's, he was only 7 points behind yema in batting average, and had more runs, hits, rbi, doubles, homeruns, total bases, and walks. in conference, he hit .409 where yema was somewhere around .418, but after that, Desmond had more hits, runs, doubles, homeruns, total bases and walks then yema. i know some of you are going to throw that argument that yema played on a winning team, and he's the "MVP", but the award in called the SBC Player of the Year, which was shown last year when Matt Gunning got the award for western who was the 7th seed. Desmond shattered school records in homeruns, rbi and i'm sure many other catagories that i'm leaving out, and he deserved to be the SBC Player of the Year.
