I agree with you, but it was mainly Tennessee State University who opposed us changing our name to the University of Middle Tennessee. They didn't like it because they felt like it made us sound like THE University of Middle Tennessee. I say forget them and do it because we are not only THE University of Middle Tennessee, but we are the largest University in the whole state.
