This plan shows the coastline of the Cape Verde Islands and the route that Barbot took. Beneath this first map is a second view showing Cape Emanuel and the Island of Goree . Engraved by Bellin for Antoine-François Prevost's ,
" L`Histoire Generale des Voyages"
and published by Pierre de Hondt, The Hague between 1747 -1780.
Jacques Nicolas Bellin ( 1703 - 1772) was a French Hydrographer & geographer,
On hand laid paper without folds.
Blank verso and in fine , virtually unmarked condition.
Measuring approx. 8.5" x 5.5" ( 220mm x 140mm ) printed area only with good margins beyond. A crisp impression which would frame well.
