A detailed copper plate engraved antique map/sea chart , entitled ,
" CARTE DE LA BAYE DE SALDANA OU SALDANE ,Dressee sur les remarques des navigateurs.."
A detailed plan of Saldanha Bay, northwest of Cape Town in South Africa..
Engraved by Jacques Nicholas Bellin ( 1703 - 1772) for Antoine-François Prevost's, " L`Histoire Generale des Voyages"
and published circa 1750
On hand laid paper with original centre fold.
Blank verso and save for very light age toning , in fine ,virtually unmarked condition.
Measuring approx. 11.5" x 9" ( 295mm x 230mm ) to the clear platemark with good margins beyond. A crisp impression which would frame well.
