An interesting copper plate engraved antique map depicting the mouth of the Senegal river in west Africa , entitled within a decorative cartouche,
"CARTE D'UNE PARTIE DE LA COSTE D'AFRIQUE ".
Engraved by Jacques Nicholas Bellin for Antoine-François Prevost's
" L`Histoire Generale des Voyages"
and published by Pierre de Hondt, The Hague between 1747 -1780.
On hand laid paper without folds and in fine virtually unmarked condition.
Measuring approx. 9" x 6" ( 230mm x 150mm ) map area only with margins beyond, a crisp impression which would frame well.
