From; "Atlas Classica, Being a Collection of Maps of Countries Mentioned By the Ancient Authors Both Sacred and Profane.With Their Ancient Subdivisions at Different Periods."
An interesting and attractive classical antique map of North Africa, i.e Mauretania, Numidia, Africa and Tripolitana. An inset map of Libya extends the coverage eastwards. Dated (1798) and credited to Wilkinson in the plate.
Not folded and blank verso. A crisp, dark impression of this fine copper engraved map. The original outline and wash hand colouring remains bright and fresh. Very fine, virtually unmarked condition.
Approx. 8.5" x 11" (220mm x 280mm) map area only with good margins beyond.
