An interesting copper plate engraved antique sea chart/map entitled,
"CARTE DE LA BAYE DE SAINTE HELENE",
St Helena Bay, West coast of South Africa, near Cape Town.
Engraved by Jacques Nicholas Bellin for Antoine-François Prevost's
" L`Histoire Generale des Voyages"
and published by Pierre de Hondt, The Hague between 1747 -1780.
On hand laid paper without folds and save for a light crease lower left hand corner, in fine virtually unmarked condition.
Measuring approx. 8" x 6" ( 200mm x 150mm ) map area only with margins beyond, a crisp impression which would frame well.
