Internet is always a hard place for joking (even with smilies you can't get the real meaning of a grin over like in real life), and before you get it, you may sound offensive without ever wanting to do.
Let me put it quite clear once more: substitutes for chords are totally common among keyboarders to replace too obbvious or worn out chord progressions, and that's exactly what Brian did here.
So Brian/Karma, I hope you don't feel offended...
