Thank you very, very much for coming to Detroit. I know the group is nearing exhaustion given all of the travel involved (not to mention the unannounced trip to Cleveland before heading to Chicago). I have never seen so much respect for the fans than from the BAOE (for example, after completing the Spring tour you are still going to make the effort to drive back to Albuquerque to make up for the fire there). That’s class.
The Detroit show was well attended despite the fact that it was a Sunday night. And despite the fatigue I’m sure the group was under, the performance wasn’t just great; it found the “groove”. The groove is difficult to explain, but its’ that point when everything comes together and you know it when you hear it.
To be a part of the BAOE you have to be a great musician. What gets circulated are the bass players. I have never heard a poor BAOE bass player, but I can say that Andreas Geck is absolutely fantastic in that role. Savannah’s confidence and delivery just gets better and there’s nothing more that can be said about Karma. And please, don’t every stop making that B3 sound like a scalded cat!
Thanks from Detroit.
