Posted by jimknopf of course I can't really answer for Brian, but since he is on tour and perhaps can't anwer posts here at the moment, here's just my two cents: I play a Voce5+ module myself. I'm quite happy with it, because it has a warm, nice Hammond tone together with all the fundamental options of the original B3 (Vibrato, Percussion, Keyclick, one set of real drawbars; even a useable overdrive distortion). *But*: The B3 Vibrato is like good spices in a meal: they should not be separate recognizeable tastes, but add to the richness of the whole and become part of the meal. So you won't notice aB3 Vibrato as separate effect, but as integral part of a singing, swinging organ voice. That's what separates it from all the clones so far more than anything else. Now for the overall feel of a keyboarder add some more not so obvious differences between a real B3 and even the best clones (fundamental sound is richer and more complex from real tonewheels, 'character' of different B3s concerning other tonal aspects etc), and in a direct comparison you would feel just like Brian: So as soon as you can manage the touring problem (which is no easy job to do) someone like Brian will have no alternative to using the "real beast", providing his signature sound like nothing else can.

Hi Andy,
What I like most about it: for my ears it sounds better than most other clones especially when it comes to playing higher notes, and that's quite important if you don't want a solo to sound like a squeaking digital mess.
One critical point which is very important for Brian's sound is the vibrato. For Brians sound without Leslie, a fat, rich C3 Vibrato is absolutely essential. And here even the Voce Vibrato - though sounding better than some other clone vibratos which in part are really totally crappy - can't compare with a real B3! The Voce C3-Vibrato for example sounds a bit too intrusive while at the same time the "broad" richness of the original is missing.
take a seat at the B3 and everything, from fast waterfall keyboard to subtle tone nuances just "fits", while *every* clone always reminds you of missing aspects or slight differences.
Brian, when you're back: hope, I haven't misinterpreted you too much... ;-)
