Brian,
I'm coming to see you tonight at the Iron Horse in Northhampton. It was 34 years ago. We had seen you at the Sir Morgan's Cove gig and were coming back the next night for a second helping. My wife and I were killing some time at the Holiday Inn and spotted you sitting alone at a table. My wife, Bernice, broke the ice and you invited us over to sit with you. It was a great thrill, spending that hour, talking. I told you I prefered your playing to Keith Emersons and that I was enamored of the Better Land lp; we talked about Jim Mullen's unique guitar style (though he was gone from the lineup by that time). That was the beginning of my teaching career. I'm still doing that, though I'm also a published writer, my next book happening to be about a group of baby boomer music fanatics who never quite grew up. I'm looking forward to the show tonight. You are the best. I continually play your work and I am very progressive and modern in my musical tastes. Love that "Nothing Can Be What It Was Tomorrow."
