This is my dog Kane, he is a TNU Bulldog out Tuff-N-Uff kennels. I think he's a great dog and Paul has and is helping me great deal. I would highly reccomend Paul as a trainer and TNU kennel

What assistance work will you be training?

Hi Paul,

Just curious of what commands you and Will are working on.

Will you incorporate any protection work into the training?

That would be interesting to see since assistance dog orgs. won't utilize protective dogs in their training and discourage it.

hi Aaron,

He's no assistance dog, he's just a family dog. He's very protective of me and my family and barks like hell at strangers around the house. Paul's helping me with basic obedience stuff but I don't think he'll be anymore than a just a well trained dog.

Hi Will,

If you are interested, these DVD's have some great training concepts for those in Wheelchairs. I used a couple from Teamwork II for Dogs pulling a wheelchair, and the "brace" command which came in handy when transitioning from a wheelchair to walking cane.

Hey Aaron,
I cross-trained an Assistance & PP dog about 2 yrs ago for an older lady who had been mugged a couple times.. I guess she was an "easy target"?
He did *real* well in the training, & had 100% reliable nerves for the work.
I have a video of one of the tests we did with the dog, but I've posted it about a zillion times as a PP test example on here, so I won't be trite about it.

What type of assistance work did the dog do? That kind of cross training is interesting because not too many people do that. Please repost the link, I've probably seen it but it's not coming to mind at the moment.

Aaron - PP Training / Test video

Thanks Slydog , we had a great session yesturday , downs at a distance with hand signals etc, a very good session. I'm so proud of Will & his dog.
