This last weekend, I took a truckload of the doggies to the 2009 SACCI National Specialty, during which they also had numerous opportunities for titling & competing working dogs. Kala passed the CAL Levels 1, 2, & 3. He earned the "Olympic Dog Title, & also won 1st Place in the "Hardest Hitting Male" competition. Neb, the male puppy I kept back from my breeding earned the CAL Levels 1 & 2 (I didn't enter him in the 3, as he hasn't progressed to that level in his training yet), & he also earned the "Olympic Dog" Title. Teal, the b!tch I kept from the breeding earned the CAL Level 1 & 2, ~BUT~ not only did she earn the "Olympic Dog" Title, she earned the "Olympic Dog Supreme" title by taking 2nd Place Overall, narrowly beating an adult male Cane Corso that outweighed her by 35+/- pounds!! The "Olympic Dog" title is fairly new from what I understand, but kinda similar to an "Iron Dog". The dogs had to attain a passing score in a 40 Yard Dash Competition, a Weight Pull Competition, & 2 Hardest Hitting Competitions -one was at 15 yards & the other was at 40 yards. Points were ascribed depending on how well the dog did in each category, then tallied up for the final Placement Standings! In the breakdown of the different categories, my dog's highlights are: Kala placed 1st in the 40yd Hardest Hitting & 2nd in the 15yd Hardest Hitting. Shocking to me, Neb placed 1st in the Weight Pull (he isn't typically my best Puller). Teal placed 3rd in ALL the events, which gave her enough points when totaled together to take 2nd Place Overall! I was SO Pleased my 17 month old "Baby Boerboel" was able to "hang with the big dogs" & earn a Supreme Title!! Just to add the "cherry to the sunday", my Bouvier Nessie won "Hardest Hitting B!tch" too!! I hope to receive a few photos from folks that were there taking pictures; hopefully I'll have *something* to put up soon!
