Work with both types of dog. Thing is, that particular b###h is not genetically suited to sport, at all and it is genetic, not imprinting because based upon her breeding she was intentionally not touched in order to be able to have a hope of titling/certifying in the non-bitework activities her handler wanted to prove the breed can do. I'm not one for b/s debates but I know what I've seen of her and my Sch' friends have seen of her when testing her, the opinion is not mine alone and everyone that's tested her, has loved her in that context, albeit 1-2 folks had to really take a step back and review what they'd seen. Her father, is a hard-arse most folks are not queuing up to work, but, had he been raised differently, he could, with a sufficiently capable (maybe a Paul C or somebody with the rare combo of open-mindedness, flexibility, skill and experience) have been an amazing sport dog. His daughter, she's hardening up like him, but she is genetically what some folks spend a lot of time training out of the sport dogs they buy to do high end work, like VIPs and embassies. Anyway, know what's what in this case and it isn't worth debating here.
