It depends on what you mean by "hard".
Thats a word that gets thrown around allot these days,
Without getting too involved with my current ideas on working dogs and their(our)evolution....
I usually think of hard as dominant. A very strong willed and minded dog who is confident in their drives(as opposed to apprehensive), and does not like to be pushed.
In that case, not so much.
Neither one of the parents are "hard" in that way.
Both the parents are very confident generally and in their drives, environmentally stable, and social with people and animals,but not dominant. Well, Ria is a little more of a b###h but is surprisingly tolerant considering her genetic.
