Tomato, To-mah-toe.. I'm just pleased to see the dog able to let go of a piece of equipment & focus where the "fight is", regardless of what's going on in its head.
........mam this is why my tomato is your grapefruit. when whats in the dogs head is not clear they have a hard time collecting them selves and refocusing on the fight, other wise they just look for the moving material.
I've seen plenty (of both kinds of dogs) that can't, because when the issue arose they didn't have appropriate technique(s) applied to them to teach them "where it's at".
.......it is not technique it is the mind set that you try to create.
i seen plenty of both kinds of dogs who will transfer from one material bite to the man with with or with out material but under stress they revert. this is why it is important to create the proper mind set. otherwise it is a conditioned response that will fail when the dog is taken out of his /her normal training.
I'm not trying to be argumentative i just do not want to misrepresent anything to the lurkers.
feel free to have bill make a video of a green dog with no prior civil work done, and no exposure to any environmental change and explain what you do. but please do not associate what we do as something similar to your concepts.
as it is very different.
take care,
j
