I've always wondered how much was suppressed vs how much is gone with regards to mothering ability. In the manwork and mantracking side I've seen it suppressed - trainers saying the dog wasn't capable when it was. I've also seen it faded - the ability and desire being nowhere near as keen as in better bred dogs.
*** Is a b###h that cannot properly work through the whelping process in a fit psycological/hormonal state to raise a litter of pups?
And if she isn't should the pups be culled?
*** If the conflict between her contact with humans and her instincts is magnified is she in a mental state to desirably imprint her pups?
How could it not effect it and what is that effect over time?
