She's a fine-lookin' dog, there!
That's a great "old school" technique.. waiting for the dog to choose that the "non-animated" piece of equipment isn't where it's at.. that it has to drop it & refocus to get the next bite.
Bill was the 1st person I saw do it years ago, but I've seen it lots of places since (& with people a little longer in the tooth). Any trainer would improve to add it to their "toolbox" IMO.
