A silent dog who stands between what its protecting with an intimidating and serious gaze and growl, or a dog who spazes out and barks furiously? NOT in the sport or competition ring, who's been trained but a natural guardian on its home turf.

Personally I prefer my dogs to tke the silent approach until the threat is known, and then alert.
