I just got a McNab/Catahula pup. She is extremely attatched to my 1 1/2 yr old other pup and when I try to crate her a few hours she comes out trembling/shaking and wining for a good 30 min till she realizes things are ok. She's an escape artist already so I really feel safer crating her when I'm not not home but shes terrified! Is she to young or do I just keep doing it?

Put treats in and shut door for a few minutes. Then reopen and tell her she is a good girl. Toss toys in. Keep doing this. I used to start my pups one at a time from the time they were 5 weeks old until I shipped them via air at 9 weeks. The last one I shipped air went from Sacramento to Seattle then via car to Victoria and never had a problem. She also did not piddle until she got out of the car in Victoria. My dogs have all learned to use crates as dog houses with the door removed. Then if you need to put the door on they are well used to the crate feeling. Also an open wire crate may be the answer for an insecure puppy. Gotta get over there and meet her. lol.

Re: I will load pics soon, can't from my phone.. And she's getting better
She doesn't come out trembling from her crate now, I did put a couple of her toys in there and did the treat thing so she knows it's not a bad thing. I had no problems crate training my other dogs but they were always a month or two older. She's getting it, she's a smart girl and "VERY" spoiled!!!!!!! http://www.cff.org/Great_Strides/dsp_DonationPage.cfm?walkid=8273&idUser=528599
