dog losing pigment on nose and around eyes?

8 yr old wire hair pointer in excellent health and condition, gradually losing pigment on her nose and around her eyes. Skin is not tender, no visible distress to skin or nose. Her nose is dark brown and her coloring is mixed light to dark brown.

Is she by chance a liver? As they seem to do it more than the black pigmented dogs. Just a thought.

Interesting. She has never lost pigment before. Her nose is usually chocolate brown. Maybe an aging thing? She's 8.

I have heard it can be from the plastic food/water dish if she has one?

I think she does. She is not my dog. I passed that info on to her owner. Strange..?.. that a plastic bowl would do that.

pointers, dalmatians etc tend to have color and pigment changes throughout life. My dad used to raise them.
