You're right most of the kennels in the Bay Area are outrageous. Brian Foran of Sacramento German Shepherd Rescue used to offer long term boarding at a discount rate. They'd be running lose with a big group of German Shepherds at his place, not in a kennel. So if you think your dogs would do OK in a group situation you might contact him and see if he still does this. Another option might be to contact Dalmatian rescue and see if they can help you out with a foster home or a discount deal at a kennel.
