An old Dalmatian I pulled on the verge of death April 2011 from Lancaster Shelter (So Cal). He was an owner turn in, request to PTS. Facebook does save lives! I was tagged early morning on him the day he was to be PTS, a lady in So Cal saw the thread, offered to drive him to me!! She took 24 hrs stopping along the way. He was filthy, 10 lbs overweight, about 16 years. He just wanted to die, I refused to let him, had to feed with syringe for 3 weeks BABY FOOD due to kennel cough & pneumonia, mint tea laced with honey to help his sore throat from coughing and keep him hydrated, soon he realized I was stubborn, finally had the will to live and has enjoyed ranch life very much!
He’s deaf and partially blind. I get up couple times at night b/c he’s unable to hold his pee & just poos in his sleep. I can handle the poo clean up but pee is harder since it messes up his bed & blankets!
So his end is near, I've scheduled my vet to come out next monday and send him along, surrounded by the green grass on the property. he came to me end of April last year. Trying to find a reasonable place in Sac to do a private cremation since we dont own our property so doesn't feel right burying him here. We're planning a feast for his last meal Sunday 
cat tested, duck and goat tested...such a sweet old soul.
