I know torsion is very common in large breeds especially great danes, blood hounds, deerhounds et cetera. I would think that since it is a gastric illness and that gas builds up in the gut and stomach that feeding small more numerous feedings would be the ideal thing. Also the stomach sometimes flips over as in a twisted gut type happening. So I still think smaller amounts of food would allow the stomach to recover instead of a dog gorging itself as some will do if the food is available 24/7. (I have my dogs on 24/7 feed and they are all ok but only one is a large breed dog)As far as the other dog goes take him to work with you if your boss will allow it. I used to take my dog to work all the time. She would sleep under the desk.
