Posted by Norris Pyle All this nonsense over the "Williams House" is nothing but a bunch of hysterical historical bull. The building would benefit from a major facelift and rehab. The issue of parking spaces is another matter. I would think that both sides could bend a little in this matter. Avon Hysterical Society members, get your heads out. Whether or not you like it, Avon is changing. It is not your great-grandparent's Avon. Be selective, but accept the fact that Avon is going to change. Also, while I am at it; that nonsense entered into the charter limiting the number of traffic lanes downtown - Detroit Road/Ohio Route 254 is a state highway. If the state wants to turn it into a six-lane highway, they will do it. While I'm not advocating it, I doubt that there is anything anyone could do to stop it.

For starters, let's see if we can agree that just because something is old, it is not automatically historical. There are a number of old buildings in Avon that would benefit from meeting the business end of a bulldozer.
