Accounts of their massacres are best described in the Armenian, Hellenic, and Assyrian genocides of the 20th century, which were only the latest committed by them. Detailed accounts are not as accessible for those as I would wish. Which leaves room for much debate and opinion. They were both incredibly evil, definitely yes, with no question. In fact, some of the methods of torture they used are exactly the same: cutting off ears and facial organs, beheading, burying alive, castration, gouging out eyes, rape, removal of fetus through abdominal slicing and killing the fetus one way or another, slicing off breasts, disembowelment, and more. That's a short, good background of their similarities. The differences in their nature from my mind: I just want to say something regarding the Turks. Imagine Mongols of the Mongol empire. Now imagine corrupt Mongols - ones who adopted Islam - who abducted children at [guess] - and formed their own empire.

Japanese in WWII involved in those atrocities were evil. As I research more, I discover more gruesome horrors, particularly Unit 731. Accounts with great detail are easy to find since some of the perpetrators wrote about them themselves.
Japanese - grew up never learning about pain. Why? Because some have apologized after having their own families (but not all)
Turks - naturally evil. Why? Because their population in general has been and is quite... inconsiderate to say the least.
