Sonata Tranny

I recently purchased a 2001 Hyundai Sonata, 4 cyl, auto, 55000Km.
The car runs and drives fine but when stopped and idling in Drive, the car seems to have excessive vibration. When I shift to Neutral, the engine seems smooth enough but when put back in Drive, begins to vibrate. Is this a tranny problem or something else, or just 'the way she runs'?
