1998 Cavalier Z24

I brought a 1998 2.4 Z24 cavalier back in December the man stated it had a problem but he did not know what it was. FYI the car has an aftermarket air intake on it but i do not think that would effect it. Well my problem is when I start my car I have to wait a good 5 minutes before I can move (cold or hot outside does not matter), because if I do not let the car warm up it will act up by stalling out and bucking. It sounds funny like it does not wanna stay running. I do not know what is wrong with it... If anyone could help me out that would be great! Thanks!
