I had the same problem. The low-trac light was usually accompanied by a brief scraping sound, then the ABS light would come on and stay on. This didn't always happen, sometimes the ABS light would just come on. The mechanic pulled the codes and said my right front ABS sensor was reading 0 mph while the others read 20 mph. It turned out to be a kinked (shorted)cable running to the sensor and not the actual sensor.The cable ran $90 plus labor. Not sure if your problem is the same, but it might be related. Other than the period when the low trac light came on, the brakes looked and worked fine.
