99 firebird air conditioning

my car air conditioning seems to freeze up after it has been running for a while. It still sends out some cool air but acts like it is partially blocked somehow. As a result my air conditioning always puts off a musty odor. I have had new feon and deordorizer added. That did not work. Any ideas on what my problem might be? The odor gives me a headache!
