overhead console module

Got a 2002 Cherokee Laredo Jeep and if I don't use it for a dew days, my console will not come on when I start the car, but after driving about 20 miles or so, then it comes on and will continue coming on evey times I start the car thereafter, even from one day to the next. But NOT if I leave it there for 3 or 4 days. My dealer says my module is finished......... Would anyone have an idea????? Thanks
