This might help.
1 onion. peeled and chopped fine.
salt and pepper
Cook above until tender in salted water.
next,
4 tablespoons flour
1 tablespoon butter.
melt butter and add flour stirring well until it turns brown.
add to potatoes with the milk and
11/2 teaspoons salt
1/4 teaspoon baking powder
add to above 1 lightly beaten egg and
add milk and water in equal parts until mix resembles biscuit dough.
Put in fridge for 30 mins.
Roll and cut to shape desired.
