Posted by James A certified athletic trainer and a team physician have very similar goals in that they both address injuries related to the athletic population...however when you look at the educational route that you have to take to achieve either professional credential they differ. To become a team physician you'll have to go to med school, to become a certified athletic trainer you'll need to attend an university with an accredited athletic training program. Which ever one you choose I hope you the best. --Previous Message--

: I attend a university that does not offer
: athletic training as a major, but does offer
: Sports Medicine/Pre-med. My goal is to a
: team physician or athletic trainer. I'm in
: the sports medicine/pre-med major now, but
: does anyone know if I'm on the right track?
: And after I graduate what would I have to do
: in order to become an AT or team physician?
