Iam a 25 year-old guy looking to continue my education, and once agian attempt to pursue a degree in athletic training. I have been from day one extremely intrested in athletic training, although 3years ago i had to withdraw from an athletic training porgram because my family could not afford the cost of tuition at that particular private school, wich i realy loved. in the mean time i have pursued a degree and experience as a NY City Paramedic, as well as becoming a Registered Nurse, working at a large NY City hospital emergency room. i have gained a valuable amount of healthcare experience. i am faced with the dilema of deciding to obtain my bachelors in Nursing, or Athletic Training. fact is fact, the bachelors in nursing degree will generate an even larger income, but for me, iam getting tired of being indoors and that particular area of healthcare. yea it will definatly pay the bills, but despite the lower pay scale, what intrests me about athletic trianing is the travel, the varioius setting of the job, and the ability to be either indoors or outdoors. MY QUESTION TO THOSE OF YOU READING THIS IS, with my healthcare experience as a Paramedic and Nurse, will it help me land a good athletic trainers gig, as well as a decent income? so if i were to graduate school, with all of my experience, would i have a good chance of being picked up by a good college, or would i still have to start at the bottom of the barrel?
