Some of us would like to go onto graduate school and get our masters degrees but are unable to due to funding because we just left our large tuition colleges that have put us into great debt. Before you go and take all our graduate assistant positions away, you need to realize that many of us are not doing this because we can't find a job or because schools want cheap labor, it is because we want a free education so we can go on and do better things with our life.
: Future ATC's:
: This graduate assitant post is exactly what I
: was refering to in my earlier post,
: concerning ATC employment. Too many schools
: want to get free or cheap labor from new
: ATC's. Paying an ATC 5k a year is a lot
: cheaper than hiring a full time career
: employee. This is fine for the new ATC
: looking for experience, but at some point
: ATC's have to get out of school and make a
: living.
: With the current system, ATC career type
: employment is extremely competitive and is
: only going to get worse unless significant
: changes are made. A good place to start would
: be to limit the number of graduate assistants
: allowed in ATC education programs.
: just my 2 cents.........
