As was said previously, if an ATC tried something similar for the PT crediantial, the APTA wouldn't go for it. Really the only thing I don't like about the new guidelines is that they don't allow for much indepentant learning. I really benefitted from having to deal with situations on my own. But with the strict supervision guidelines, this is not practical.

I think that there needs to be more done to standardized programs. I have been involved at a couple of different schools, each that have recently been accredited. One school, had an exceptional program, which I have yet to find a program that can even compare to it. The next one was horrible, they didn't allow the students to have any participation in the care of the athletes, and the relative standards of the program were low. I am now involved with what I would consider a good program. I am truly amazed at the variablilty in programs.
