2003 chevy cavalier trac off light came on and now car wont start

yesterday i stopped to get gas, i left the car running and when i took off i noticed that my "trac off" light came on and a mile down the road my car started to shut down, and i couldn't accelerate at all. Since then my car will start for about 5 sec and then it will shut down.
