Ford F150 Lower Ball Joint

Any suggestions on how to remove the lower ball joints? The manual show to hit the end and the ball joint is supposed to kick out, but that isn't working. We've tried everything, we bought pickle forks and have air tools, but it acts like it's welded in there. The top one is loose, but the bottom one won't budge. Any suggestions?
