Transfer Case

I own a 2003 Chevrolet 2500HD crew cab.Two months after having it serviced the transfer case burned out.Is it possible for the oil in the transfer case to be used in that much time, enough for the transfer case to burn up? The transfer case was checked for leaks and there weren't any.
