I am writing my memoir of growing up in Marcus Hook PA during WWII (The Town That Kept America flying). Marcus Hook refineries provided about 7% of aviation fuel used by allies in European theater. Armed Gards were important to the protection of that fuel as it was shipped overseas. I have found many Facebook mentions of Marcus hook in former armed guard pages. I would like to hear from anyone who was in Marcus hook as part of the Armed Guard or Merchant Marines during the war. Any help will be appreciated.
