My Dad, Edward Harry Rife server in the U.S. Navy from 1942-1945. His discharge papers say he was on the Edward Rowland Sill. Is there anyone that knew him? If so what job did he have? How do I find other info?

Kathy, I like you, wanted more information on a reletave that was a Navy vet of wwii. The relative i'm interested in was an uncle, my mother's brother. He has been missing since 1943. If you will scroll down to feb. 15, 2015 to John Lee Ware, and read Ron Carlson's second answer, then using the information about contacting the National Archives in ST. Louis, Missouri, you can get a lot of information. If you can, download the form, fill it out with all the information you can about your dad and send it in, they will dig out everything they have and for a fee send it to you. You being next of kin, ie, spouse, child, parent or sibling. you should be able to get more information than I did. The people at the National Archives will notify you of the cost before sending the information. Good Luck, MEL
