Ron, I was on sick leave at Panama City and when well enough I was assigned to Donald Bain which was headed for the Phillipines, this was July of 1945. Where can I go to get a list of the Naval Gun Crew, we were on our way to the phillipines and eventually the Japanese invasion. The bomb was dropped while were in the harbor in Batangus in the Northern province of Luzan. Thanks Ron Gerry Burr
Hi, Gerald Burr. I was in Batangas about that time as I recall. At that time I was a Signalman on the SS Park Benjamin, a Liberty ship. I know we were happy that Harry decided to "drop the BIG one" and shorten the war!!! Many of us felt as though we wouldn't make it through an invasion of Japan. Roy Brown
