My Grandfather William S. Sutherland was the Purchase Controller at the Oakliand, Calif. shipyard where the Charles M. Hall was built. My Grandmother christened the ship on 16 October 1942. She, my Grandfather, my mother and I were present on that date. I have a photo taken then. I am seeking a picture of the ship for my family history. I hope one of your members can help me in this quest. Thank you for reading. Randall W. Richards,III 4/15/2011

Mr. Richards,
There are two rather low-quality photographs of CHARLES M HALL found on the Armed Guard / Merchant Marine website:
Mr. Hultgren specializes in photographs of Liberty ships, CHARLES M HALL being a Liberty.
Also, the Mariners Museum, Newport News, Virginia, is known to have a photograph of the ship. Unfortunately, on the page of photo resources I reference above, the second URL listed is no longer correct. Use http://www.marinersmuseum.org/library/research-assistance instead.
Good luck.
