For the record, I'm still here, still hurting, and still looking forward to tomorrow. And the next day. Bests to all here.

Permission to come aboard, Sir. Got home Wednesday after a most memorable cruise on the SS John W. Brown a week ago. What a fantastic adventure. I never had a chance to serve aboard a Liberty, but I enjoyed every minute of it. My ship in convoy PQ-13 to Murmansk was an "Old Rust Bucket", the SS Eldena built in 1919 and was not nearly so nice as the Brown. One of the main highlites was meeting Ron Carlson and getting the chance to thank him personally for all the great work he does on our websites. I donated a stack of my book "Frozen Fury, The Murmansk Run of Convoy PQ-13" to the Ships Store and a number of them were sold during the cruise. I also called Roy Brown after returning home and we had a great visit by phone and made plans to get together soon for dinner and fellowship. We live less that 100 miles apart and I look forward to our visit. Keep in touch all you "Old Salts". I check this site daily.. John
