To All AG Veterans Who Post Here: I want to sincerely thank each and every AG veteran who posts on this website (1) For your WWII Service (2)For sharing your stories. My Dad has been gone for 14 years now. He died just 2 months shy of his 70th birthday of a rare type of Thyroid cancer. I knew he served in the Navy in WWII ,but didn't know anything about The Naval Armed Guard until 2 years ago when I requested copies of his service records. Since then I have been looking for any information I could find about the ships he served on and The Armed Guard in general. Just recently my sister stumbled upon a folder that contained all the letters home he wrote during his time in the AG, from training at Treasure Island to his honorable Discharge in 1946. I am currently creating a scrapbook in his honor, but have only 2 photographs from his AG days in The Pacific to use. I am looking for copies of interesting photos of any WWII Victory ships, convoys and/or AG crew members on duty in the Pacific theater to use in this scrapbook honoring my Father and the Naval Armed Guard. This is NOT any kind of book or commercial venture and will only be seen by family & friends. Thanks again for sharing your stories here. Regards, Jim Nelson
