Today, June 6, is the 65th anniversary of the D-Day invasion at Normandy. While it was not the Armed Guard or merchant mariners who stormed those beaches at such great sacrifice, many of them were aboard ships carrying troops and supplies in support of the invasion. And on June 6, 1944, if not at Normandy, thousands of other Armed Guard sailors and merchant mariners were bravely doing their duty elsewhere around the world. God bless them all, especially those who never returned. Ron Carlson, Webmaster
