Mr. Tackitt, When in the Armed Guard, did you go by the name of Leslie Dean Tackitt? I find a person by that name arriving in New York City on June 20, 1944, as a member of the Armed Guard crew aboard the S.S. RACHEL JACKSON. She arrived from Calcutta, India and Port Said, Egypt. I can forward to you the names of the rest of the Armed Guard crew aboard the RACHEL JACKSON if you like. The crew was commanded by Ensign George Parker Powell. Welcome aboard,Dean. Have your "secretary" post the ships you were aboard, where you sailed, etc. We are just a group of old Armed Guard sailors who try to hold on to memories and like to shoot the breeze with anyone who will "listen". We look forward to your posts. Roy Brown
